America feels more divided than ever, yet every American will agree one thing: our country needs fixing. The problem, of course, is that our visions of what needs fixing and how to fix it are radically different, and are getting even further every day.
Democrats blame Republicans, Republicans blame Democrats, a few years go by, and everyone votes for the same “lesser of two evils” that they always do. No one is happy, and nothing is fixed.
It’s time to fix it.
Voting and elections in this country are a nightmare, and they are rigged as hell. But not the way that the right-wing media says they are. They’re rigged by the multi-billion dollar corporations that buy our politicians– on both sides of the aisle– and then feed us 24-hour news networks full of BS.
Speaking of which, why are there only two sides to this aisle? America is the land of individuality, why do we continue to force people to choose between two options to define their entire political and social identity? Well, it’s because the election system is rigged, like we just said, and third-party candidates don’t stand a chance.
A Cure, Not a Band-Aid™
Socialism is a scary word. Republicans want you to believe that socialism means Soviet-style communism, and Democrats don’t want to piss off their billionaire donors so they keep that word out of their mouths.
But all socialism really means is taking care of society… Funding education and healthcare, building roads and parks, and making sure that everyone is paying their fair share.
Individuality doesn’t mean individualism. Success is built on community. We need to take care of our neighbors, whether they wave a blue flag, a red flag, or no flag at all.
Socialism isn’t Soviet communism. You’re not standing in line for bread, everyone doesn’t share a toothbrush or pay 80% taxes for “freeloaders.” This is all the ridiculous propaganda of the ultra-rich.
Socialism is just a matter of priorities. People over profit.
Be the Movement
The New American Socialist movement is founded by the people, for the people. Our ideas are not radical, even though the Establishment wants you to believe they are.
We’re just getting started, so check back for more information soon.
